I was looking to get another scanner just for Mil-Air and was wondering if there was enough traffic to justify getting it. With Alameda and Moffet NAS closed the closest is Travis AFB. I live in Antioch so would I also be able to get McClellan AFB up in Sacramento if I put up an antenna?

I was looking to get the Radio Shack Pro-2052. How is this compared to other scanners, even used scanners, if there is enough traffic to buy one. TIA.

From various sites in the Bay Area I can hear:
Coast Guard Ops
Air Refueling
Travis AFB of course
The occasional patrol flight
Airshows
And of course, the Blues during Fleet Week

Also, you can hear the UHF side of all the ATC channels

I'd say it's worth it.

I have a Pro-95 and Pro-96, I know neither is really tuned for it, but I have input frequencies into them anyway....I live in the bay area (monterey bay) and have only heard a short burst of chatter almost a year ago...nothing else. Does anyone have a milair file for the bay area so I can compare frequencies? Thanks in advance.
