Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Does the Minitor V only record Stored Voice when the mode is set to Selective Call F1 or F2? In other words does not record on Monitor F1 or F2 positions.

Thanks,
Tim

The stored voice function doesn't care about monitor or selective call. It is activated when the pager is alerted by any tones programmed into it.

stored voice will work for monitor F1 and F2 and for normal scan which scans both channels as long as you have the right info needed in your pager for your area your using it for.

Ok, I must not have something set correctly for Stored Voice to record. I have EMS & FIRE tones programmed and they both alerted the pager today. But Stored Voice is not recording. I have the pager set for a manual reset instead of a certain time.

Stored Voice is set to Dynamic maybe that will not work in Macon County, N.C. for 453.350. UHF.

First, SV not working in a particular place or on a particular frequency is just plain silly. It either works or it doesn't. Why would you say something like that?

Second, on the Model Options tab, make sure the Reset Function is set as Revert N and that the time next to it is set to at least 10 seconds. Many times, dispatchers will drop carrier for a second or so after sending out tones and then make a voice transmission. The Revert N at 10 seconds holds the SV open for that time period and picks up the voice transmission. If the Reset is set to Automatic or some of the other choices, the SV stops as soon as carrier is dropped.
