Minneapolis City Center

Anyone know what's going on with Minneapolis City Center site? Has been unavailable for about 45 minutes and doesn't appear to be advertising to other sites. Planned maintenance?

Are you asking about the Broadcastify feed here or are you local to that tower and not receiving any traffic on a real scanner or radio?

If you are referring to the Broadcastify feed, remember that these feeds / Calls nodes are provided by volunteers, and often times run on whatever available hardware someone has laying around. Things happen. I am not sure what software or hardware that site uses, but if they use SDRTrunk like I do, there was a reasonably big update to that software in recent weeks that people are upgrading to. What should have been a simple 10 minute downtime of my node when I upgraded yesterday turned into almost an hour and a half of reboots, software restarts, moving USB dongles and readjusting before everything came back up behaving normally.

Always assume normal gremlins and have grace that when they happen, for most volunteers here, the time, ambition and cash to get things back online is usually a much lower priority than other things in life.

Neighboring sites are still advertising it as being there on 860.2375, but it is not.

The last message I received (and my reception is far from perfect) was at 2023-08-31 09:28:18.

I checked all of the alternates it had been advertising: 858.2375, 858.2625, 859.7625. Nothing.

I am local and not receiving any traffic. I actually can see it on an adjacent site broadcasting a Failure Condition in SDRTrunk.

Just to pick an adjacent site, Hennepin East broadcast normal adjacent site messages until 2023-08-31 09:28:21. At that time it started saying City Center was no longer connected to the zone controller. And then at 2023-08-31 09:30:45, it starts saying failure. It has bounced back and forth between these messages, and occasionally even says it is healthy (like from 2023-08-31 10:25:42 - 10:25:51).

And it is back.

Came back on 860.2375 at about 2023-08-31 11:37:02.
Changed frequency to 859.7625 at about 2023-08-31 11:37:03.
And then changed back to 860.2375 at about 2023-08-31 11:38:03.

Interesting. I'm assuming it was some sort of routine maintenance, but that doesn't seem like something that would normally be done in the middle of the day.

I'm guessing some type of failure or bug that was easily fixed.

Seems City Center is down in Saint Paul only this time. It is not showing as an adjacent site for Ramsey County, but it seems others in Minneapolis are able to receive the site.
