I monitor Distress, Calling and Law Marine bands, all three frequencies are FM should the squelch mode be on Search , CTCCS, DCS or Search? Also should I set my radio to Search for Value ? my radio shows the Value if found then I can store it. Thank you..

Marine radios have no tones on them and should be just set to FM.

Doesn't really matter in the long run, since you can still receive the radio traffic without entering a tone. The good things for radio services that use tones that you can block out unwanted traffic on the frequency if two different users use it with different tones.
