Well, the past few weeks I have been spending some time in Mobile with work and have been running Pro96com on the Mobile P25 system. Seems like lots of encryption. The following are the "E" talkgroups I've found:

1063
1064
1065
1066
1067
1058
1069
1070
1071
1081
1082
1092
1107
1116
1117
1128
1147
1151
1152
1161
1167
1172
1227
1228
1245
1267
1268
1274
65129
65164
65179
65183
65184

The open talkgroups I've found so far are:

1124
2007
2039

On 65174 I heard a BOLO go out about a car jacking but don't know if that was a 1 time thing or not. So, I guess if u live in the Mobile area your listening will be slim.

All LEO is on the new system. Most, if not all, were encrypted. All Fire and EMS still haven't swapped, but I'm told that's coming next week.

Also, what you heard may have been on a Mutual Aid channel. Prichard PD used Mutual Aid a lot.

There was also a MA channel called "LEO Chase" for (obviously) pursuits. May not be encrypted on the P25 system either.

Does anyone know if Mobile county uses a unified dispatch for fire or is City of Mobile fire dispatched separately from the county?? Talkgroup 1044 is a fire dispatch talkgroup that uses the robotic talk machine to do the dispatching. I don't know if it is county or city. Talkgroups 1045, 1046, and 1048 are fire related, I just do not know what they are exactly.

Also, talkgroup 2007 is a rescue/ems talkgroup

Lastly, I know this sounds weird but talkgroup 1066 sometimes has dispatch in the clear and the mobiles encrypted. Don't know if this is by design or an error but it sounds like an S.O. talkgroup.

City and county are separate. City does have the computer-voice page outs.

Sheriff's dispatch is not encrypted. Car radios are. That's odd.
State Trooper patch also included on new system (2007).

Am hoping someone local can help verify some of these t.g.s that I think I have ID'd.

1009 Have heard FD ops in Citronelle, Georgetown, and Mauville areas. Does the northern county have its own fire dispatch??
1045,1046,1048,1049, and 1057 are fire ground or fire tac I believe. Just don't know for who.
1082 possibly Mobile PD traffic div (discussion about routing traffic)
65129 PRICHARD FD
65134 CHICKASAW FD
65136 THEODORE FD
65137 MOBILE EMS
65146 SEVEN HILLS FD
65169 WILMER FD

That's good work. If that traffic channel is unencrypted, it might not be the city PD. Maybe the Sheriff or another agency as everything for Mobile PD seems to be encrypted.

I've found that it can take some time listening in order to confirm specific uses. Patience is the key.

I locked out 1082 due to encryption.

There are a few channels where you can hear the dispatch unencrypted, but car radios are encrypted.

1009 is County Fire Dispatch for the entire county.

I believe 1045-1049 are Mobile Fire Dispatch/TAC channels.

It surely sounds like the citizenry of Mobile needs to stand up and protest. If LE whines, "E" is for officer safety, then call them on their B.S. by stating, "if we take down the feeds, would you bring clear transmissions back to the public?"

I don't know enough about how Mobile county dispatches Fire and EMS services but it appears they do not use a single common T.G for dispatch and move to assigned T.G like seems to be very popular lots of other places. Not sure what the difference is between 4 and 5 digit T.G.'s either. I am attaching some zips of audio (dispatching) that mention the name of the dept. in the dispatch. So not sure why there are overlaps in T.G.'s unless the 4 digit T.G.'s are local F.G. or tac channels. Thoughts?? The dispatch in the 3rd zip folder sounds to me like he is saying "Bayou fire". I have sort of a hard time understanding the accents (look who is talking- a Louisiana boy). Any ideas??

What exactly do you mean "they have swapped"? Swapped talkgroups or what?
OK, I guess you mean they have totally swapped over to the new P25 system. Gotcha. Is anybody still using the old EDACS system?? Also am wondering about the AFRN system in Mobile county. Are any Mobile agencies or departments using it at all?? The county is using the Mobile P25 for everything???

BTW, can't wait for the new generation of LSM capable scanners. The LSM in Mobile is terrible.

4-digit IDs are probably SAIDs (System Assigned IDs). In Harris systems when talkgroups are patched or Simulselected, the system automatically assigned a SAID from a pool of SAIDs. At least to my understanding they are. I'm not really up to speed on Harris systems.

As far as AFRN in Mobile Co goes, there are no AFRN sites in Mobile Co. Mobile Co is a separate system. The closest sites are in Baldwin Co

Are you saying the AFRN sites that have a system ID of 00A are not online. In the database there are listing for AFRN sites in Mobile county with a SYSID of 00A. I have wondered why the Mobile county sites have a different SYSID than all the other AFRN sites.
