It's 7:03 Saturday morning. I just got home from overnight shift and of course listening. Highway patrol is doing speed traps via aircraft on I-70 in between Odessa and Bates City in Lafayette County. Lil' cessna cruisin back and forth calling out the speeds. Its so cool there flying right over my house. Highway is about 2 blocks north of my house. This is so cool!!! Pulled out the binoculars and the cessna doesn't have MO highway patrol markings?? Why not????? Awesome!

Clocked one guy at 104 Mph!!!!  Ouch, someone's wallet and record is gonna be hurting after today!!!
I was looking at MSHP home page and went to the news section and they post info about dui checkpoints and things like that in advance to let people know i guess. Would they have posted something about this speed enforcement today?

They did the same thing down here in Taney County. Your right its neat listening to them call in speed and lane changing violations.

 Don't know if you listen to 42.000 much, but I hear alot of
Troop A car-to-car comms there. Some of it can be rather amusing......

Usually checking to see who wants to eat where, but sometimes it
better stuff than that.

All of the fixed wing aircraft MSHP that I have fueled do not have markings. The clue is in the tail number. MSHP aircraft end with MP.

Dunno about the helios. Using the above link:

http://www.mshp.dps.missouri.gov/MSHPWeb/PatrolDivisions/AD/index.html
The Patrol fleet consists of two twin engine airplanes,
N116MP - Beech 65
N2MP - Beech A200

eight single engine airplanes,
I could only find six ...

N79MP - Cessna 182T
N873MP - Cessna 182R
N92MP - Cessna 210N
N94MP - Cessna 182S
N95MP - Cessna 182R
N97MP - Cessna 182R

and six helicopters.
I found twelve. Go figure ..

N177MP - Bell OH-58A
N280MP - Bell OH-58A
N281MP - Bell OH-58A
N282MP - Bell OH-58A
N283MP - Bell OH-58A
N284MP - Bell OH-58A
N286MP - Bell OH-58A
N288MP - Bell OH-58A
N383F - McDonnell Douglas 369E
N60MP - Bell OH-58A
N96MP - Bell 206B
N98MP - Huges 396A

I actually sat out looking with my binoculars to grab the tail # cause my dad's a private pilot and he can get that kind of info. Couldn't really get a good angle on it. It kept flying right overhead. I didn't feel like jumping in the car and parkin somewhere and someone seeing my staring at this aircraft w/ bnoculars. Didn't want to start anything knowing how things are nowadays and all. I'm pretty sure it was the N94 or N95MP Cessna that I saw. When do they use the helo's? What for? How often do they do speed traps in every zone?
