I am wondering if the capability now exists between the Unicaton G5 Pager and the MPSCS to....

Program a specific scenario in Monroe County, so that the Fire Dispatch Talkgroup remains "silent" unless they tone out a specific Department such as Dundee FD or Summerfield Fire. If I can do this, and after a tone out has occurred, will I have to reset anything or will the FD Dipatch TG go silent again on its own? I am trying to avoid all the Fire related calls in other areas of the county and have my G5 stay silent until my neighborhood gets FD traffic.

Thanks.

Monroe County is planning to eventually move to the MPSCS for it's fire/rescue paging needs. The goal is to phase-out the old VHF-High band paging system within the next 1-3 years. With the passage of the public safety millage, I would suspect that this will happen as they replace their old MPSCS two-way radios over the coming year. Currently, they are not using the MPSCS for paging.

If Monroe goes the same was Washtenaw did, utilizing PageGroups, then you can listen to just that PG.

I am just going to wait until Monroe County fire updates their pagers to P25 pagers and then do it... the right way in hopes it plays well with the G5 :geek:
