I'm looking for a current list of 10 codes and signal codes used in Monroe County, Florida.

No, they are not the same as Broward nor Palm Beach.

Thank you in advance.

Have you contacted the Communications Dept and ask if they will share the 10 codes and signals with you? On the Monroe Co. Sheriff's Dept website under the contact us tab there is a direct link to email the director of their communications dept, Anne Leonard. Of course in this post 9/11 climate she might say no and wonder why you want the information. Perhaps if you explain you are a hobbyist she might give you the info. Never know till you try.

I live in Volusia Co (Daytona Beach area) and their 10 codes and signals are posted on the Sheriff's website.

Good luck in your quest.

OK, let's try that one again.

I'm told that Monroe County uses plain English, so there is no 10-code list to provide.

I must be hearing Key West cops and thinking Monroe County S.O. They're on the same trunked system.

The search continues.

I discovered that if you go to the Key West PD c.a.d. page it lists the signal codes with their descriptions as part of the call log, but it is delayed by about half a day.

Key West police calls web c.a.d.

I have been compiling these codes and have the most commonly used codes, including one that is rare that I was lucky enough to nab.

Re:

Love your feed, Bote. But are you sure Monroe County Sheriff doesn't use codes or are they just saying that to avoid giving them out? I'm hearing codes when the audio tags say KW PD and Monroe Sheriff. I don't think the tags are wrong, they're used with unit #'s that match both the KW & Sheriff units. I knew about the Monroe C.A.D. but not the KW one so I'll have to do some tracking & note taking myself & see what I can narrow down. The mystery continues I guess.

The only code that I hear Monroe County sheriff use is "code 5" which is basically an "I'm OK" check. Everything else is plain English, the way God intended.

Sometimes the tags get a little out of sync with the audio so you might see Monroe Sheriff when it's really playing out audio from Key West cops, so that might be it.

HHHhmmmm... I could've sworn I'm hearing them with units that are Sheriff units using them too but maybe not. It might just all be KW. Just more reason to listen. LOL

I still prefer the codes. Our Monroe Co up here in Pa still uses them full time & WB City Fire in our County does as well. My FD & the rest of the County will only use them about 5% of the time now with the PD about 25% of the time. On the radios we've gone to plain language but I still use the codes everywhere else in life away from the radios. I just think they're quicker & easier but I know I'm in the quickly shrinking minority in still liking & using them. I'm a dinosaur & grew up with them, what can I say? Haha....

But as I said, love the feed. I'm glad it's back up & the audio issues are worked out now.

That would be great. Maybe post those that are the most commonly used first & then go through the rest of the list to add at a later date when you have time. That would be much appreciated.

1 other question slightly off topic if anybody has this as well. I've seen a list of the Sheriff's units and for the County & Key West fire & ems units but I've never seen a listing for Key West Police unit #s. I keep saying I'm going to listen & sit down & try to track & plot to see if I could narrow anything down but have yet to get anything figured out.

OK, thanks very much for that list. I added the missing ones to my list and saw quite a few that I had guessed wrong.

Key West Police publish a list of calls from their c.a.d. from the previous day, so you can go down that list and get some of the codes that way, but there are others that seem to be used only to dispatch calls. Then the call is cleared with a different code, so your list filled in those blanks.

When I get some time I'll format it and post it.

Thanks again.
