I've been listening all morning to 165.1125

They were talking about the "lead car" and the "follow car" and what mile marker they were at. Initially I though it was some sort of military formation....but then there was quite a bit of Fire Police communications and I thn thought it was a parade....as I listened more I figured out it is some sort of Triathalon or foot race. They mentioned different route numbers that put it in Monroe County near Stroudsburg I believe.

Does anyone have any idea what this frequency is? I can't find it listed anywhere and was curious if it is just a fire police freq or something else. All of the race communications seemed to be on this freq.

Hey Fuzzymoto, I'll take a shot at it. It's a military freq and and old P/C lists it as US Air Force. When I was in the Army, our unit would have unit and base runs. If you have any ANG or USAF Reserve units in your area, that could be what you heard.

Good deal. Looks like a cool event! I have to correect myself, it's a Fed freq listed for AF use, but the listing is many years old. I wounder if it's possible if the Red Cross was using that freq. I think they might use Federal freq. Good catch! All I seem to pick up in that band is NOAA :)

I'll keep listening. Perhaps the Red Cross does have something to do with the freq usage.

In Berks County,PA that freq is used by the park rangers at Blue Marsh Lake. It was built by & is maintained by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Maint, security, rescue op's, parking control etc... are all on this freq at the lake.
