We're taking the kids to Monster Jam at San Diego Qualcomm stadium Saturday and I thought I'd take the Pro 106 to see if I could listen in to either the trucks or the stadium comms. Anyone know what / where to look?

TYIA! :D

When they were in Anaheim Saturday I could not locate anything for them searching all the business bands. I searched for several hours before and during the show. Sure hope your luck is better.

You may want to try SDPD SE Disp and 461.125 D606 for security.
This post from the KGB skyshow may have some other frequencies worth trying at the Q.
I would also run SignalStalker to find the unknowns or search the usual business freq ranges.

Try searching the FCC DB for the U.S. Hot Rod Association. They are the 'sanctioning body' for Monster Jam.

Try to resist the temptation to figure out the frequency for the remote ignition interrupters and 'kerchunking' Maximum Destruction when he's 40 feet in the air. :D

Here is my uasd file from when I saw Monster Jam at AT&T park:
// BCD396T UASD Ver. 1.4.1.1 3/14/2008 7:09:42 AM

SystemCT,CNV,"Qck Save Cnv Sys",0,1,UNLOCKED,OFF,2,OFF,0,0,AUTO,8
CGroup,"Qck Save Grp",.,UNLOCKED
Channel,"{ 462.6125MHz}",04626125,,NFM,D047,OFF,UNLOCKED,OFF,OFF,OFF,AUTO
Channel,{1469.5000MHz},04695000,,NFM,D047,OFF,UNLOCKED,OFF,OFF,OFF,AUTO
Channel,{3469.3250MHz},04693250,,NFM,D047,OFF,UNLOCKED,OFF,OFF,OFF,AUTO

"Channel 1" 469.500/DCS 47
"Channel 3" 469.325/DCS 47

I never heard them refer to 462.6125 as channel 2, but it's a good bet.

Note that 462.6125 is an FRS frequency, so don't forget to scan FRS, GMRS, etc...

Thanks for the info, I'll try those freqs and let you know if I find something. (If I can figure out how to get them uploaded to the scanner before Sat. :D )

I can only select by area, do I need a premium membership? I pasted that into the search box and got four hits to other sites that didn't seem to have the info.

I bet some of the other drivers wish they could activate Meantz's (sp?) remote ignition considering how often he "bumps" in to the parked trucks when he's freestyling. :D

I would have just used the direct link to http://wireless2.fcc.gov/UlsApp/UlsSearch/searchAdvanced.jsp but I came up empty doing searches for various things like "USHRA", "U.S. HOT ROD", "UNITED STATES HOT ROD" etc in the Name Search there.

I did a search on Google for "USHRA frequencies" and found a link to the Monster Jam 2009 Rulebook, which I'm still waiting to load.. and a lot of links to some other weird stuff that is definitely neither car nor radio related.

The PDF only states that the RII must conform to "USHRA frequencies" but doesn't state them.

Good luck, and if you get any close call (or equivalent) hits, post 'em for others :D

Brandon's link to scandiego gave me the best results, though even that was marginal at best. I never found the team freqs, but did hear one highly agitated lady broadcasting to the vendors that the ONLY people they should be banking out to (giving their money from the register during the cash out's) are "teams of two people, with badges, and AFTER 7:00pm. "

Without coming out and saying it, it sounds like someone who knows the system was going around collecting cash in the guise of an official agent.

DOH!! :D

I scanned everything from 461 on up to 470. I tried plugging the freqs you posted and didn't get anything for quite a while. I may have done it wrong being a newb. :D

I attended the Monster Jam at Oracle Arena in Oakland on 2/28, and they were using the frequencies/tones I mentioned on this thread.

No More Speculation -- Here's The Freq's

Now that all of you have speculated, I will give you the facts. I am a truck driver for the company who moves these shows around the country, and have access to their radios (I have one with me right now at this venue).

These events -- Monster Jam, Ringling Bro's, Motocross, etc -- are run by Feld Entertainment of Palmetto, FL. They own 16 frequencies. These all operate on NFM (Narrow Band FM) with low power, so you won't get an intelligible signal outside of the venue -- inside, you can hear them well. I am right outside of the stadium now, and cannot hear what they are saying -- even though I can hear the signal.

Crew & Setup/ Teardown Channels:

1 -- FELD 1 -- 151.505 mHz
2 -- FELD 2 -- 151.5125 mHz
3 -- FELD 3 -- 151.6250 mHz
4 -- FELD 4 -- 151.7000 mHz
5 -- FELD 5 -- 151.7600 mHz
6 -- FELD 6 -- 151.9250 mHz
7 -- FELD 7 -- 151.955 mHz
8 -- FELD 8 -- 153.0200 mHz
9 -- FELD 9 -- 154.5275 mHz
10 -- FELD 10 -- 158.4000 mHz
11 -- FELD 11 -- 158.4075 mHz

Admin Channels:

12 -- FELD 12 -- 464.5000 mHz, DTCS 047
13 -- FELD 13 -- 461.3875 mHz, DTCS 047
14 -- FELD 14 -- 464.2375 mHz, DTCS 047
15 -- FELD 15 -- 466.3875 mHz, DTCS 047
16 -- FELD 16 -- 469.2375 mHz, DTCS 047
