• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

I have finally downloaded all of the new changes for MC so thought I would get better organized. Do I have the district numbers correct?

1 Silver Spring
2 Bethesda
3 Rockville
4 Wheaton
5 Gaithersburg
6 Darnestown

I couldn't find this listed anywhere in the wiki or the www.

Also, I received a Scan DC message indicating MPD is going dig on Sept 15...is that supposed to be Monygomery County? If so, shouldn't the acronym be MCPD?

The districts are laid out in the database, in the law enforcement section - unless things have changed, which is possible

Montgomery County Md. - the RR Database

I believe the 2nd item about MPD is talking about the Washington DC metro police going encrypted - see the DC forum for more on that...best regards..Mike
