WIGGINS - An 18-year-old woman was killed in a crash on I-76 in northeastern Colorado Thursday night after her car was hit by a pick up truck.

The Colorado State Patrol says Heather M. Anderson was driving a silver 1992 Buick west on I-76 about five miles west of Wiggins when she was hit at around 6 p.m.

State Patrol says Anderson had gone from the westbound shoulder to the left hand passing lane of I-76 when she was hit by a white 2001 Ford F-150 pick-up truck driven by 20-year-old Greg Widgery of Haxtun.

Both vehicles came to a final rest in the center median.

Anderson was pronounced dead at the scene by the Morgan County coroner.

Widgery was transported to Colorado Plains Medical Center of Fort Morgan and treated for minor injuries.

State Patrol says alcohol, drugs and speed are not believed to be contributing factors to the crash and the incident is still under investigation.
