Can it be done? This is an external speaker that typically comes with a spectra. I know Motorola made the speakers for some Maxtrac's in an either a no ground or negative polarity fashion (can't remember which it was, don't have the site where I read it bookmarked), and things could go up in smoke if wired with your typical speaker. So I thought I'd ask here before I start modifying things.
I understand that there's a dispatcher headset that may be available (I've looked on ebay and haven't found one), and honestly, I'd like to adapt my black gm300 mic to the spectra as well..I've taken a liking to how it sounds and I don't want to be forced into a different mic.
What I'd like to do is mount a 3/4" headphone jack into the back of the speaker. To make it work properly, I imagine I'd have to wire it in a way that cuts off the speaker when plugged in.
Any ideas would be helpful. .Thanks!
