I use the BC20 Uniden speaker. Plug it in and it works.

Thanks looking at the specs it looks like BC20 20W Max. 8 ohm (MONO) and you have no problems with your BCD536?

I was looking at the specs for BCD536HP Back SP Audio Output Power : 5W Max., 8 ohm

https://www.uniden.com/File Library/FooterNav/Product Information/Owners Manuals/BC20om.pdf

thanks for the help
5w is the power out from the scanner. The 20w speaker rating means that is how much power the speaker can handle without damage to the speaker. The 5w scanner output is well below this, so it is safe.
