• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Motorola Knobs part N° ? (help needed for r765 & MTP750)

Hi all,

I recently added a MTP750 (Asian version of the MTP700 Tetra Terminal) and a r765 (well known iDen terminal, non IS version) to my personnal collection, but both were without volume & channel knobs (there's some plastic core remnants on the MTP potentiometers, but that's all...)

I'm seeking the part numbers and a way to purchase these parts (because, as you may have guessed, it sucks to use them without knobs...)

I found the references below for the MTP700/MTP750 knobs (see 6804113J98-O BSM)
(BTW there were two types of channel knobs : one cylindrical (later rev IIRC), & one spherical, like the early XTS knobs, I can provide pics if needed).
3686050Z01 - Volume Knob.
3686485Z01 - Channel Knob. (the BSM doesn't state if spherical or cylindrical, I don't care as long as I have a knob )

But I'm unable to find the part numbers for the r765 (no service manual ever made it to the web it seems...)
(They look a tad similarly to the XPR3550 knobs IMHO, but there are still obvious differences)

I would appreciate if someone can point me in the right direction (part numbers, r765 BSM, etc) :)

As these are probably long NLA, I would appreciate even more if someone have some to sell or know a place that will, but please be warned that I'm in Western Europe, where iDen is virtually non existent (you should have seen the face of the radio shops I went to, when I asked for r765 knobs )
[Otherwise, I guess I would have to improvise with a 3D printer]

Thanks a lot guys !
