Motorola Minitor IV PL Tones?

Does anyone know if the Motorola Minitor IV has the ability to use PL tones in monitor mode to eliminate unwanted radio traffic from being heard by the user? I'm aware that these pagers do two tone decode for alerting, but i was just wondering if in monitor mode that PL tones can be used.

No I dont believe Minitor's have the PL ability

Thats one draw back they still havent improved even on the new Minitor IV models

NO THEY DO NOT USE PL TONES, ONLY THETWO-TONE FORMAT OR A
GROUP CALL, WHICH IS ONE LONG TONE. YOU CAN PURCHASE A TWO-WAY RADIO FROM MOTOROLA OR RELM THAT WORKS AS APAGER AND A
PAGER! THOSE RADIOS CAN USE PL TONES.( THERE ARE NIGHTS I FIRE PAGER COULD HAVE PL TONES.) TRY FALCON WIRELESS .COM THEY
SELL SOME RADIOS THAT HAVE THAT CAPABILTY. HOPES THIS HELPS

The minitor III and IV are such pieces of crap, even if they had a PL feature, I wouldn't trust it to actually work and would leave it disabled. I'm never buying them for our department ever again. I am now refurbishing our Minitor II's for 1/10 the price and if I need something new, it will be a small Kenwood portable radio.

I Agree 100! I have one that I bought for myself, we've had nothing but problems with the3 and 4"s. Moto should be ashamed to put there name on them.

I agree with the numerous problems with the minitor III's. However, I've seen a vast improvement with the IV's. We currently have 2 that I use for the day to day on duty guys, and I haven't had 1 single problem. I still strongly rely on the II's for all my vollies, but I will soon be upgrading to have 100% minitor IV's....
