• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hello everybody!

I had problems with wireline input on my UHF 40W MTR2000 with my old, working firmware.
So I flashed firmware version R03.04.003 but with wrong file „ocr30403.enc“ which is individual for every repeater. After flashing (100% success) I uploaded my old codeplug again.
Now I just have red LED lighting and repeater is out of work and message "MTR2000 RSS Station Feature Definition string not found. Please correct the feature definition file and repeat the station upgrade process.“ in RSS.

Could anybody help? Serial Number 512CAX0184, Station ID 000007C7B3F4, firmware Version R003.04.003 82R02676Y46.
I don´t have the older firmware to reflash.
Need the correct .enc file for flashing or advice how to change .enc-file.

Thank you so much! Any help welcome. Motorola Europe won´t help. Support finished.

Chris

Firmware upgrades were machine specific as I think you’ve found out. You supplied Motorola with your serial number (backplane ID?) and they provided a firmware update for your machine.

Not sure there’s anyway around this except to have Motorola supply you with an update for your machine or you find a generic firmware that doesn’t care what your backplane ID is.

Yes, Motorola in europe stopped support. I hope someone else could help me and send me firmware/.enc file or advice me to construct a working .enc file for my repeater.

Might want to buy a new controller or find someone who has an upgrade file for their backplane and have them upgrade your controller in their chassis.

Do you think every used controller with another configuration (i.e. 100W station/900 Mhz station) will work in my repeater with my codeplug?

I was able to unlock my repeater by making serial connection via Putty.
Then doing commands

dorss
hw_id_check_off
reset

Repeater boots and is working fine. After power reset it‘s locked again.

Any other idea?

Replace the controller or send it to someone who can upgrade it for you.

Is anybody here in europe that has the last firmware update an could make an upgrade to my controller?
Or make a full flash dump without any deconstruction via Motorola Lab tool and serial programming cable?

thank you!
