• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

    Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

    If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

    To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

    The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

    For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

    This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

On MOL Myview I we have purchased the APX CPS. But when we go to download, it doesn't allow. Anyone else have a similar issue?

Pink bar comes up and says;
Not able to initialize user. Please contact system administrator.

So after you are under Entitlements > Software you search for the CPS you want to download. When you click the "Download" button on the far right, you should get a warning about going to an external website hosted by "flexnetoperations". Once you're there the easiest thing to do on the far right is to click the file name which will start the download. That way you don't have to have the little download helper agent. I think otherwise you should get a popup about downloading it - I just went in and checked and didn't get it, but I have better luck with the direct download links anyway

If you want to actually download the software, you should probably click yes.

I do. Then it gives me a page with a pink bar and an error message. I have to call them next week. Their site sucks.

I haven't had any issues downloading CPS or firmware from MyView. Have you tried from another computer?

I've tried multiple. Somebody said I need to download the agent, but I'm not familiar with that.

I never had to download any "agent", it just worked. Click on the link in MyView, accept the redirect to the other site, then download the file from there. If that's not working for you, then yeah I guess a phone call to MSI is in order.

This happened to me a couple of months ago. There was some kind of issue on their end between my MOL account and my MyView account, which you would think would be identical. They had to screw around with it to get things to the point where I could actually initiate the download, and that for some reason took 2+ weeks.

Yet another reason to be tired of Motorola's shenanigans.
