Can anyone convert a Motorola quick code that was on a Centracom II console to the frequencies and duration of the two tones. The quick call code is 3977
Thank you very much.
Quick Call II tone timing is standardized. First tone is 1 second, the second tone is 3 seconds. There's no time lag between tones.
Better explained in great detail here:
Two-tone Paging
There are also several other sources on the net for detail info on tone paging including QC-II.
There's no guarantee that the code number assigned to the pair will match a Motorola tone plan. Too many other tone schemes have been incorporated into Centracom II and other console systems for that these days. One of the agencies here uses tones from a Plectron chart, but they're programmed into a Motorola console system and use standard QC-II timing. The internal code number assigned in the console system really can't be decoded with a Motorola chart unlike the old days. We've also got agencies using tones from an old Motorla QC-I chart, but again, with QC-II timing. Tradition is a wonderful thing.
Better to use something like RadioID on your smart phone to identify the tones. Then you will be certain that you've got the right tones.
