Motorola Type I

I'm trying to get Chadmoore Wireless Group SMR in Ft. Wayne Indiana to work on my pro 97. But I can't get the scanner to switch over to Motorola Type 1. I have even tried to get do it on pro 96 and still can't get it to switch. Can anyone help me with getting the scanner to switch from Type 11 to Type 1 Any help would be great.

I think what you have to do is set up the Type I fleetmap, get the radio into trunk programming mode and then use Function 8 to get into fleetmap mode.

You can't "switch" between Type I & Type II, you have to use a Type I Fleet map. Since it's not a public safety system, I doubt you'll find the right fleetmap info. anyplace. You can just set it as a normal Type II system and you will still hear everything. The only difference will be how the Talk Groups appear. Normal Type II TGs are every 32 numbers starting at 16 and ending at 65536 (?). Type I TGs are something like 001-3 (?).
Unless you have a list of the TGs on that system and you want to match the list, it shouldn't matter how they look.
