• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

Hello.

Is the CPS for MOTOTBRO radios different than the standard CPS listed on Motorola's website for free? I purchased a XPR 7550E and I'm trying to upload a blank codeplug to reset it (which I haven't yet located either) I see some articles mentioning both CPS and MOTOTRBO CPS suggesting there's a difference? I don't see the XPR model in the version of CPS anyways. If they are different, where can I purchase it from? To be clear, I've read the sticky and am fine paying for the software.

Model: AAH56RDN9RA1AN
Firmware R02.10.10.0001
CP Version 15.05.13

In cps 2.0 just do recover from the device drop down menu. Will basically reset your radio with blank factory codeplug. Your radio will come up in a line and you select the current settings in it and click to get it started.

it's free, I have a Motorola account. That version came out last month
I had read these which suggests it needs to be paid for.

I'm sorry but I must seem like an idiot. I downloaded CPS via this link Business Radio Customer Programming Software - Motorola Solutions which states "Compatible with: CLS series, CLP Series, Curve, DLR series, DTR series, RDX series and RM series radios." Can you please provide the link for the one compatible with XPR 7000 series radios?

As stated previously you need the MotoTRBO CPS which you have to create a Motorola account for. The business radio CPS won't work for the XPR's because it's not a business radio

Interestingly I don't have any TRBO CPS to pick from. I have APX, ASTRO, CSS, PCR and others, but no TRBO. ?????

My APX, Astro25, etc updates are all on MOL. My latest TRBO cps is on My View. Where are you looking? Maybe poke Mr M to have it pop up somewhere?

Another question. What the heck is (or isn't) TRBO CPS Lite???

I don't either. I only have the firmware. I have talked to /\/\ Support and they always say it is fixed, but it isn't. So IDK... Not really bothering me since CPS2 is a POS.

Can't say I have ever seen that on the CPS that I remember, but the Lite stuff is usually for CP200d and such. Maye there is a Lite CPS now for the 100d or whatever?

You'll need this, after you make an account. Available on My View.

Thank you.

I think I need to reach out to Motorola on Monday. When I go to login to the "business online" portal it says I don't have access even though I created an account. The standard motorolasolutions page only allows me to purchase accessories. I don't think I have the correct "rights" enabled.

That is for the analog radius radios from what I'm reading

TRBO specifically refers to the Mototrbo radios. They're not going to use that for old analog radios, AFAIK. Trbo Lite or Light definitely refers to the CP200d, CM200d, etc., types of radios. There is TRBO Lite firmware specifically for those radios. What I have never seen is a specific CPS. They have always used the standard CPS.

It can take awhile for your account to be fully active, I had to contact customer service a few times. Once they figured out who I was and what I was doing and with what radios it was easy enough. They are understandably protective of their systems though so you'll need a legitimate reason for access beyond "look what I found on ebay..."

I forget where it is specifically but there is a way to subscribe to software in "My View." Check your subscriptions and see if you have TRBO checked off. I went through this trying to find APX firmware thinking something was wrong with my account but it turned out the only issue was the idiot operating my computer...

I subscribed to everything I could, even a ton of TRBO stuff, but no CPS anywhere to be found. Not a big deal to me, just odd.

Yep, just spoke with them and said it will take a few weeks for their data team to activate my account. Honestly is quite disappointing, I'm a strong advocate for open source software but Motorola would never do that without being forced.

And this is why so many people choose to get their CPS from “other” sources. Waiting a few weeks to get the CPS “properly”, or getting it right away “improperly”.
