• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hello. I just got this new 4300 mAh XTS 3000 battery and the charger I have is model #: AA16740.

I put it in charge and for a little bit now both the Red (Charging) & Green (Complete) lights are blinking at the same time, I never seen my charger do this before. So just wondering what this means. Does it mean I don’t have the right charger for the battery or what.

i have attached a picture of my new battery & the charger I have

Let me know

Thanks

I have a different model of impress charger and under the red/green blinking lights it says "100% service life", whatever that means? Hope that may help you.

I don’t know what that means and I don’t have an impress charger. It’s an older one as shown in the picture and the model # of it. Mine just has a Red Triangle for charging and a green circle for charged.

I'm guessing that a person would only see that the first time they charge a new battery indicating it has 100% of it's service life left?

What is your battery chemistry? If it is a Lithium battery, you have the wrong charger. I believe your charger is for the NiCad and NiMH battery chemistries and not Lithium.

You don't need an Impress Charger if you're not resetting an Impress battery each month. A non-Impress charger that will accommodate a Lithium battery charging cycle will do.

Although, you can also use an Impress Charger with a non-Impress Lithium battery.

If I were you, get an Impress Charger and battery if you want the battery to last 10 or more years.
