• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I'd like to know if the 3.5mm jack of the adapter at the link below that converts the multi pin connection like my xpr3300e to the two pin cp200 style connection will output audio or is both the 3.5mm and 2.5mm needed? Plugging headphones with a 3.5mm into it and hear audio is what I'm wanting to do if it'll work.

The CP200(d) uses a 3.5mm Mono port, you can use headphones but expect to hear out of one not the other

To use stereo headphones, you can get a mono to stereo adapter like this: https://a.co/d/cT5EPm4 or just live with the audio coming out of only one earpiece like K2NEC said. Having an adapter sticking out of another adapter would probably be a little bulky though. A mono earpiece is another option. I remember using a mono earpiece on my GP300 (same pinout) many years ago.

The 2.5mm jack is used for the microphone audio (if memory serves) so no need to worry about that.

I'm ok with an earpiece. I guess I should have asked if I use an earpiece with the 3.5mm jack plugged into this adapter, will I hear the audio and be able to use the ptt button on the radio and transmit?
At the moment, I'm using a mic and have an earpiece with acoustic tube plugged into the 3.5mm jack on the mic. I'd like to do away with the mic and only use the radio and an earpiece. I figured the 3.5 is for speaker audio and the 2.5 is to transmit but I wasn't sure and I no longer have a cp200 to test it.

As long as you have the radio set to "Mic follow PTT" in General settings, you will be fine
