• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

    Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

    If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

    To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

    The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

    For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

    This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

I am in the process of trying to get all of our radios set up for Radio Management-Configuration Mode to allow over the air programming and management of my radio fleet. We use several analog repeaters in the event of trunked system failure and use MDC-1200 to identify radios when in analog mode. Is there a way to make every radio have its own individual MDC-1200 ID? When I go to change the ID in the set/configuration, it applies the same ID to every radio. Do I need to create an individual set per radio ID in order to accomplish this?

You should not have to change it there. You would change it in the radio view that has all of the unique radio information. It is a unique piece of info like serial, radio I'd, etc and displays as such. TT

MDC id isn't shown on the radio view just digital radio id and ip address. I have the same issue. need to figure out how to keep the mdcids differant for every radio instead of being changed to the mdc id thats in the configuration

I don't have a Radio Manager Client open right now.

But if you go to the Radio View, and right click in the Column headings a List box will open and you will find a number of data elements that are normally hidden (un-checked). You can customize the view by checking or un-checking various column headers in this dialog and then clicking on the X in the upper right to close it..

One of the hidden columns is labeled 5-tone. This MAY be what you are looking for.

@zsauve

I say it looks like a bug / oversight on some ones part. As that data element appears like it should be on the Radio View and not as part of a single unique set. Have you opened a case on this ?
