Apologies for the Re-Hash of an old topic, but I'm in a bit of a pickle. I cant work out how to setup the Telstra Fleetcoms right in my UBCD396T. I've set it up as a Motorola UHF system, added in all the frequencies I could find and still can't get anything. I know its got to do with something in the settings because I can manually scan to one of the frequencies and hear car to car chatter. Anyone with any ideas or a file they could even send me that covers Melbourne Fleetcoms?

Well, for starters, Telstra Fleetcoms is NOT Motorola. It is MPT1327.
For seconds. There is currently NO scanner available that will decode MPT1327.

There are 7 main Trunked Radio protocols in the world.

Motorola SmartNet
EDACS
LTR
MPT1327
SmartTrunkII
TETRA
TetraPol

At present, modern day scanners will only decode the first two, or three protocols (depending on scanner model).

MPT1327 can be decoded by using a PC controllable scanner, such as a UBCD396T, in conjunction with a Windows computer running decoding software, such as TrunkView, or Universal Trunker (UniTrunker). Telstra Fleetcoms UHF uses a Base Frequency of 415.5625 MHz and a Step of 12.5 KHz.

Unfortunately, Victorians are very secretive about Trunked Radio in their State, and don't share the information.

And it is BAD MANNERS to hijack a thread.
You should have started a new thread, as your post has nothing to do with South East Queensland.

I was mainly referring to their reluctance to share Base Frequencies, Control Channel frequencies, or SysIDs.

On another note - just discovered in the last couple of days, that the Vertel UHF Network in South Australia uses a different Base Frequency (412.9250) to the Queensland Vertel Network (414.4625) for basically the same block of frequencies, so I wonder what Vertel in Victoria use.

I have had a lot of experience with scanning, and have recently purchased a Uniden 396 scanner and Butel ARC396 Pro. I have not succeeded to track Telstra SMR yet. I have found the same problems as you. I feel that I have 2 problems, 1 is what type of trunking system to choose MPT1327, is not in the Uniden choices. The other problem is the Trunking channel numbers. I cannot find them.
Please lets keep in touch we may be able to help each other.

Ted,
Since my first post I have learnt a lot about MPT1327 Trunking. You actually need the scanner, as well as a computer to track. You also need a program called trunkview. It takes a little bit to setup, but once its done its a breeze.

Have you even read the other posts in this thread, particularly the second message.
I think not.

Trunk View File

Hi I would be very grateful for that file thank you. At the moment I am trying to print the instructions on how to set and connect up TrunkView. ( The printer has decided to not want to print). I have installed TrunkView and it looks good.
I will wait to here from you.
