MSP in Western Maryland...

i live in WV right across the border from MD, keyser to be exact, i have 39.24 in my scanner and i hear absolutly noting! is there a reason for this ?

Dan,

I hear MSP Cumberland loud and clear here in Garrett county, I'd say you have either a scanner issue or an antenna issue. Keep in mind they have more than just the Dan's Mountain site, like Little Savage and I believe Town Hill. I'd say it an equipment problem on your end but I've been wrong before. Hope this helps.

Well I would have to disagree. I only live 2 miles from the LaVale barrack and there are times that I get poor reception. I am only using the antenna that comes with the scanner and it works well. I have just as poor reception of MSP with my mobile unit. I started a Thread about this with the replacement of their Lowband VHF radios. Once source tells me they are TK-690 which are older radio and 110watts and the other source tells me they are TK-6110 60 watts. I am going to just have to stop at the Barrack and find out. Maybe 2gigch can use the power of the evil media and get the truth.

MSP in Western Maryland

The MSP car I had the chance to get into was a new 2006, only had 3000 miles on it. Anyway, this car had a brand new TK-690, new toughbook, mew Whelen lightbar. I can't imagine the state would buy 2 completely different radio's for in their patrol cars but like I've said before, I could be wrong. Whistler, keep in mind most MSP radio traffic from the Cumberland Barracks comes from Dan's mountain, this could be why you have trouble hearing them. Just my two cents worth. Later.
