• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

There is a lengthy discussion here:

And some photos and more info here:

I was just outside and I'm assuming the winds are dying down a bit up there. The header appears to be mellowing out (from my current vantage point in San Bernardino anyway) and some scattered clouds are starting to collect out that way.

Is most of the radio traffic on USFS ANF and LaCoFD frequencies? I'm not hearing anything on my Pro-96 which is pretty much full of San Bernardino County and Riverside County frequencies. I really need to set this thing up for L.A. and Orange Counties as well.

I believe that the USFS ANF has taken over the incident. I hear some stuff on the ANF Forest Net, but I'm too far to hear the tac frequencies which are on simplex.
