As of today Mt Comfort Airport is known as Indianapolis Regional. The name change is because too many pilots couldn't find it on maps. Sounds stupid to me, no one had trouble finding it for the air shows on the ground or in the air. They said part of the reason for the change now is the upcoming (maybe) Super Bowl and the fact they expect 100's of planes at the airport. To me it seems like another power grab by the city of Indianapolis and since they own the Indy airport who owns the "Indianapolis Regional" it wasn;t a tough job to change the name. Seems though that since it's in Hancock Co. the voters here should have had a say, not the Indanapolis Airport Authority board.
Oh well, another name goes away.
