I just was listning to a mto officer on the PCPOLICE talkgroup and london asked him to switch to "PT1 London Op" Witch then when he switched over he was on the MTO Windsor TG. Witch is always patched with Barrie. Sooo could that mean that the "talkgroup name" for the windsor tg is called PT1 London Op? Or thats what shows up on their radio display?

I may be wrong, but i have a hard time believing anything in western Ontario is patched with Barrie..

sitting here in Reece's Corners (outside Sarnia) I hear units talking to London from Barrie, Owen Sound, etc. It is only MTO Enforcement units, but still happens on a daily basis

Way back when, the Barrie area was part of the Owen Sound MTO's area of jurisdiction.

I suspect that since the Barrie Enforcement guys were dispatched by Owen Sound, they came under the London Comm Centre's area of responsibility.

I believe Downsview MTO handled the GTA/Golden Horseshoe area so Orillia Comm Centre handles them.

I did get a quick peek at an MTO radio once and I believe each area had it's own Ops and Tac channels. Something along the line of HALOPS and HALTC for Halton.

Not sure what PT1 would be. Perhaps some sort of Provincial Tactical 1 for the London area? I suspect they would have some Common Channels at the beginning of their Zones much like Ministry of Corrections and Ministry of Health.

Keep in mind that many channels are patched together at once and unless you're watching it with something like Trunker, it's hard to really tell what talkgroup they're on.

They always seemed to be patched with Barrie, I also hear alot of traffic comming anyplace between windsor and kitchner.. For the most part when iv ever caught them chitter chattering.

I had trunk88 running and noticed the mto unit talking on pcpolice so i turned on my radio and herd him calling on pcpolice over and over then london told him to switch over a few times. When he did the switch it was a patched tg. windsor patched with barrie and he was on his way to windsor

All the traffic on the London tower appears to be London, Sarnia, Windsor, Kitchenr/Waterloo and Owen Sound units.
