I now have 3 Scanners in my RV I want to use the existing FM antenna on the roof )eventually replace it with a better one) the factory installed antenna in my Rig is a simple FM antenna basically a Automotive type it has the typical plug that goes into the AM/FM CD player installed into the cabinet in the kitchen! The plug is a Automotive type that most car radios use (I forget the technical name for it) is there. Simple way to split off this plug efficiently without loosing to much signal strength? Will I need some kind of amplifier? I basically want to split it at least 2 ways ideal 3 ways from the Car radio style antenna plug to the BNC used on the radios. I don’t want to cut anything in the rv so I can restore everything when I sell it! I don’t know how many RV Owners are here they are a real pain to wire if something gets damaged! See photo of plug I have the circled yellow part

That would work since I have everything connected to the 12v system, that MCA is definitely pricey! I wish the Motorola drop amp I have would work but it doesn't cover the correct frequencies! It seems anything related to scanning is pricey.

Maybe the Motorola amp Will work? It's 50-1000 mhz it's a old one "not bi-directional" I don't think anything I will be scanning goes past 1000?

If you use a standard 3-way CATV splitter you loose 6dB in signal strenght. That is one S unit on a signal meter and are probably acceptable. You only have to get the adaptors or pigtails to fit and the easiest to do are to use RG6 coax and use twist on F-connectors or buy ready made lenghts.

Or get two 2-way CATV splitters and connect in series and the first one will have a 3dB output and the second one will have two 6dB outputs for the receivers that don't need the highest sensitivity.

I have a bunch of old directv spiltters that were used with deca I might try them and see how they work I have a 4 and 8 port splitters from my old house! I use the deca units to carry internet over coax to different rooms I find the cable coax a bit more durable and easier to run than Cat 5 or 6 it's a real pain to terminate sometimes with the equipment I have available to me. I have to look at the old DTV splitters and see what the range is on them.
