Sorry if this has been hashed before, I did a quick search. Nada.

Anyone have some insight to a software package that can functionally work with multiple scanners running concurrently. I have heard about running them into different ports, but does that mean multiple sessions of the same program, or can it see all scanners within a single session?

Regards,

Well, maybe if I ask this one a little differently...

How are you folks connecting multiple scanners up to your computer? Are you selecting different ports? Do you have more than one computer? Or, do you just plug and unplug as needed?

Thanks!:)

I havent tried but I imagine if you wanted to connect 2 scanners you would have to have 2 com ports (or usb) to do it. I would think the USAD from uniden would allow 2 instances of the program to run just select a different port for each instance of the program or you could use USAD software on one and maybe ARC software on the other if the Uniden software doesnt let you run more then one. If all else fails you can experiment and see. Most programs have a demo. If you mean sound recording that might be harder but probably be able with alittle ingenuity. actually it would be easy you could probably us a 'Y' adaper to feed the audio from both scanners into the Linein of sound card or you could have 1 going to the Linein and one to Mic of your sound card

You can cantrol multiple (up to 10) scanners at a time with Spectrum Commander:

I use it all the time to contol a PCR-1000, AOR5000 and R8500 at the same time. It works great. Each ratio is on it's own serial port and I run 1 copy of the program to control all the radios.

ARC, ScanControl, ProScan, E-Scanner Plus or WinScanRS will multi scan through dedicated ports. Can't imagine how any software can do it on a single port.

Edit: Or how any software can do it in a single session on multi ports.
