MultiPSK operation

I use an Rx-320 as my primary SW receiver. In the past, I have used MultiPSK to monitor various digital signals.

For the last 2 yrs or so, my radio listening has been more scanner-oriented, but now I want to get back in SW/digital modes.

The problem I am experiencing, is that there is no waterfall or spectrum display in any mode. Once before, I had this problem and it was corrected by switching the input to my Sound Blaster card. There have been no 'wiring' changes and audio output is fine.

Is there a button on the MP display that may have been toggled?

MultiPSK has a bad habit of collapsing in on itself and hiding the waterfall display. Note the borders between display segments, they can be re sized in standard Windows drag and drop fashion by putting the mouse pointer on them and holding the key down, then drag the border to where you want it. When you drag the buttons away from the segment above them you'll uncover the waterfall display segment. Then note the buttons to the right where you can toggle between spectrum and waterfall.

I tried d & d as you indicated (am familiar with that from using Excel), but my version (3.11) would not allow it. BTW, the waterfall segment (totally black) has been visible all along, but no (yellow) activity.

Since I recalled that the last time I had this problem, it centered around the input to my sound card. On a whim, I clicked on input and noted that my line-in had been switched to mic in. All is well now.

I noticed in your screen shot that you're using version 3.9. I will see about upgrading. Thanks again.

not to thread jump, but if you are interested in trying something different i would recommend trying "Digital Master 780" it does all most all modes, interfaces with QRZ to tell you who the station is, and has a bunch of bells and whistles with a very easy learning curve..it is part of the Ham Radio Deluxe pack and as always FREE

Question for K8MCN. I downloaded MultiPSK and it looks really dorkey. Does anyone make a short-cut cheat sheet for this. Digital Master 780 sounds like something I would be interested in looking at. Is it more organized than the M-PSK???

Definitely more eye-pleasing and easier than MultiPSK. MultiPSK may be OK but that screen is so busy it gives me a headache. Check out Ham Radio Deluxe and Digital Master 780, you won't be disappointed. And you can spend a little time and taylor the look the way you want relatively easy. Nice program and the price is right ...

Digital Master is a part of the Ham Radio Deluxe Package. All though being part of the "package" it will run as a stand alone program and even has it's own logbook that you can merge with the main HRD if you want.

Digital Master's uniqueness IMHO is that it is simple enough to setup that you can begin using it immediately after installation, but it has so many fine options and extras you will continue to learn each time you use it.
Some highlights: it will auto log contacts,auto add names locations via QRZ to your macros,will decode almost every mode out there,etc etc

This is a great program for monitoring because it will automatically lock on to any PSK signal and decode several at the same time, displaying them in one screen. No operator intervention required. With DM780, it is good for two way, but for monitoring you must point it and create a new window for every single signal.Given how much these shift around, for monitoring purposes it is a lot of labour.

PSK31 Deluxe is the predecessor to Digital Master, and i agree a great program. But it is not being supported anymore since the release of Digital Master
You can monitor several signals at once via Digital Master, just use the "Super Browser" feature--all signal traces on the screen are decoded at the same time. See one you want to contact, click on it, and away you go.
