MVPD is P-25 on their main frequency of 460.275(UHF) and MVFD is still 154.145 and a simplex POOR radio system with vehicle repeaters.I've noticed a number of Mount Vernon PD's new Ford Explorers have VHF quarter wave antennas but no UHF antenna. Is there a move to VHF or does anyone know what the purpose is?
Possible dispatch has ability to patch channels together during interop needs? Seen many do that from uhf to 7/800 or.vhf etcMVPD patrol vehicles have UHF APX4500 mobiles (why i don’t know) doesn’t make any good for interoperability
the only patch county PD has is the hotline which to my knowledge is a just a voip line… RTC (real time crime) calls out LPR hits for file 1s (stolen vehicles) or wanted vehicles…mv pd central dispatch then also notifies the respective sectors.Possible dispatch has ability to patch channels together during interop needs? I've seen some also know others around will be going away from one band to another and make the jump to just going single band 700. I did notice all sudden the mindset of use dispatch not scanning calls for mutual aide has come back. To me step backwards some are doing. They tried that non sense here no scan simple zone with the basic interops use dispatch for relay of the traffic and none of the pd, fd or amr people would have it.the only patch county PD has is the hotline which to my knowledge is a just a voip line… RTC (real time crime) calls out LPR hits for file 1s (stolen vehicles) or wanted vehicles…mv pd central dispatch then also notifies the respective sectors.

Asking the same thingWhat??
APX4000 is an awesome single band P25 radio… 512 channelsMoney doesn’t grow on trees. MVPD can’t afford to have APX8500s in every unit. They went from a slew of PR1500s and XTSs to APX4000s and 4500s. Specific units were issued portable radios from the NYPD for interoperability purposes/monitoring. If any information needs to be relayed to/from WCPD, the MVPD dispatcher will do so. It’s actually a great system when you’re in the area it’s meant to cover. Systems are not built with the hobbyist in mind, lol.
154.145 Mhz and simplex. West New York, NJ/North Bergin NJ on the same frequency too.May be for the Fire Department? MV Fire Department operates on VHF.
