Hello RR members. :)

Thought I'd post a couple pics of my humble shack. Only started about 3 months ago. With the help of members, I feel I have some good equipment and a solid starting point. Use the Pro-97 mainly for trunking and the BCT-15 for everything else. Not much to look at but here it is.

Moved the Scatenna and RS 20-176 back inside for now as I never came up with a permanent mounting solution. It's in a unused spare room. Looking for something to act as a base for the pole so I can get my bar stool back.

Imagine sleeping with all that RF activity beside your head ..... DrainBammage?

Very nice set-up, Quiet low profile look yet effective. Good Job!

Pshh, he's not even transmitting.

I've got a 50 watt 2 meter packet node that ticks all day long, antenna is about 10 feet and one exterior wall away from my head whilst I sleep. No brain damage yet...but then again, I do try to debate on QRZ sometimes, so even that might be suspect.

The yagi itself is nice. Good build. As for performance, I only picked up about 1 bar (at best) compared to a window mounted RS800. But, I live in a remote country area with ridges and such. Typical of the Catskill area. So, I really didn't expect much. Pulls similar to the RS800 (one should never underestimate this little guy) but does have a cleaner signal.

In the video provided, you can see the BCT15 that I use for trunking hitting two different towers. The "Ulster Co." tower is about 16 miles away from what I understand and the "Dutchess Co." tower is somewhere in the range of 33 miles away though I don't know the exact location. Hey, I'm new at this! :p In the spring, I'll experiment with it outside and see if it will be worth my troubles to mount it on a mast.

No matter where you live it will be worth your time. You can't beat an exterior antenna.
