• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

Im sure almost everyone has there ideal scanner that they would like to see.

Mine is this, price doesnt really concern me, although availability could be better with some you have to order online only, why cant stores open up, or radio shack carry more??

well i want this

1 Infared Remote
2 Built in Digital TV RX with video output
3 Video output for Display w/alpha tag (so it can be seen bigger on TV, monitor)
4 of course all your trunking and P25 Digital
5 Maybe bluetooth to listen wirelessly

6 also im not sure how much space memory channels take up but why not a gig or two
so you have quite enough room for all your channels, make some sort of file system to pick and edit profiles, could even implement Unitrucker to video output if it was possible.

not all this could be in one scanner, but im sure this could be made in between
$600-1000, correct me if im wrong or if you think differently.

just though id share:D

ps. sorry for posting for a thread that has been started about this i didnt see it

Just have it use a SD card. These are already available in sizes up to 16GB. The only catch is that some of these are not that fast, so I'm not sure you could run a scanner directly from the SD card.
