• Effective immediately we will be deleting, without notice, any negative threads or posts that deal with the use of encryption and streaming of scanner audio.

We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

This is my first post.

I thought I would start with my RadioShack scanner collection.

The first scanner that I ever purchased was actually for my brother.
I am not 100% sure on the model... but I think it was the PRO 26.

The first one I got for myself was the PRO 90.

I got a PRO 94 after my dad passed. It was his last and favorite scanner...

Then, I was given a PRO 75 a few years ago that has an issue.. it only runs on a power supply. The battery holder was either lost, or broken. There is battery acid damage on one of the battery prongs.

I haven't listened to them much at all for years. The PRO 90 got the most use from me of course.
I just found out tonight that the NiCD pack in it no longer holds a charge.. so I might seek out a replacement.

The reason I joined the site was that a family member purchased a new Bearcat BCD396XT and asked me to program it. I didn't know how complicated it was. Holy crap what a difference. I am still learning.

That is all for now. Take it easy!

Welcome aboard EdwardNC

I've been listening to scanners since about '92. I had my first radio was a 10 channel Radio Shack Pro 41 or 42 (has 2 blue buttons) and no keypad can't remember other buttons believe had a square screen only see 0-9 that is it on the screen. I had other scanners too like the Pro 92 Pro 96 BC200xlt sc150 alinco djxt-10 bcd396 psr-500 bcd996 bcd396xt psr 800. I still have the alinco djxt10, bcd396xt, psr800 radios. I had other base units not able to remember which base units I had.
