Earlier today my feed went down. Power cycled everything including router and modem. Finally I logged into router and the raspberry pi is showing up, but sometimes it has an IP listed and sometimes it doesn't. Can anyone help. Below are pics where I see the ip there and then gone.

I'm using the Edimax EW-7811Un 150Mbps 11n Wi-Fi USB Adapter to connect to router and it's been up for about a month or so working fine.

IP listed next to device

My guess is you are having a power supply problem. The pi is notorious for that if you don't have a high enough average power adapter. What model pi are you running and how many AMPs is your power supply?

I've been using a usb 3.0 hub that has AC power to it. Powering my pi off of that made my feed have less hum than when I used the power supply for my pi. It's worked up until now. I'll go back and try the power cord for the pi and report back.

That didn't fix it. I recorded the boot up and took screen shots of the network part. It usually does a few of the DHCPDISCOVER lines but I've never seen that red failed after it. Any idea what it means and how to fix it?

Well I decided to redo it all and without wireless. I have an Ethernet cable in it and it's not working. It shows an IP address but my feed still shows offline. The link below is the build I used before and again this time. Not sure what's going on.

I can browse the web from the Pi just fine so it has an internet connection. I checked the darkice1.cfg file several times and copied from broadcastify to the cfg file to make sure no errors. Why is it not getting to broadcastify?

I had a similar problem with my RPi feed. I tried a bunch of mods of my config files and finally got it to work by changing the port. I had been using the default port of 8000 (or 8001). I changed it to a different number in the 7000 range and it has been working fine every since. I think my ISP (Comcast) may have blocked the default ports for security reasons.

So I can try another port even though Broadcastify gave me 80? It was working good for a while. A few weeks ago I changed my speed tier from E105 to E150 and had issues. Finally a user on dslreports.com that's an engineer at Comcast said the config file on modem was wrong after 25 people told me it was right. He pushed the file to my modem and I got new speeds. A few days ago it seems Comcast gave me a new IP that I think was used in another state before. I say that cause when I go to speedtest.net on my laptop it defaults to Wichita KS and I'm in Little Rock AR and it use to default here.

Another thing weird since the Comcast issues is when I try a speedtest on dslreports.com I get the below message so not sure what's up with that.

Your connection is via a proxy (1.1 detr2-notify03.westlandrdc.mi.michigan.comcast.net (squid/3.4.3)) The speed test may return an error. Any results may not be meaningful.

I'll try changing the ports in the darkice1.cfg file later and see if that helps.

It's back online!!! So my previous post about the proxy message. That's how Comcast gets the data usage warning popup to you now that the impose 300 limit. Even though I acknowledged the message, it was stuck on my account. Once they cleared it my feed came back online.

Hello out there,

I have had my Pi running for a couple weeks. I just powered the unit down and back up and I cannot seem to get the auto start to fire up. I can't get it to fire up even from a command line.

Nothing had changed on it and i have gone back on the unit and compared it down from the config above and elsewhere on the forum and all looks well.

Anyone have any advice for service start issues? The only thing I have found on the forum is the Comcast proxy issue and this above of waiting. Any other issues folks have seen with even getting it to start via command line?

Thank you,

Joe
