    We've noticed a huge increase in rants and negative posts that revolve around agencies going to encryption due to the broadcasting of scanner audio on the internet. It's now worn out and continues to be the same recycled rants. These rants hijack the threads and derail the conversation. They no longer have a place anywhere on this forum other than in the designated threads in the Rants forum in the Tavern.

    If you violate these guidelines your post will be deleted without notice and an infraction will be issued. We are not against discussion of this issue. You just need to do it in the right place. For example:

My shack at College.

Behind the Lowepro camera bag is a Diamond MR77 SMA mag mount antenna hooked up to the Kenwood TM V71A.
Motorola HT1000 UHF S split
Kenwood NX 200 VHF
Motorola XTS 2500 UHF FPP S split
Kenwood NX 700 VHF
Kenwood TM V71A Dual Band
And pictured last is a MFJ 1724b dualband mag mount antenna hooked up to the Kenwood NX 700

HP Envy Laptop.
Lowepro camera case - used to hold my Nikon D3100 DSLR Camera that is being used to take the picture.
Gatorade bottle and Gummy bear for refreshments and a very large and unhealthy snack.
Motorola Droid 4 phone used for scanning when I don't have my radios on me.

Once again, a very very nice setup! And thanks for the additional pictures this time of the antenna sitting up top, etc. I still want to find out more about using/programming the Kenwoods and Motorola XTS when I get some time to research them. I'm assuming with the systems those are capable of picking up you have to have a little more information than just the frequencies...

By the way...still envious of this setup! :D

Haha thanks! Yea there is a learning curve like anything, but I still just do the basics on each so yes there is alot of research that goes into them.

Ahh its funny you should say that because my girlfriend actually thinks its cute when I talk about them. XD who the hell knew? The other girls when they see it are like oh so you're a cop? LOL

Very nice setup. Is that a HP Envy laptop? Just ordered a real nice envy the other day. Nice looking shack! I'm in college too but lucky enough to be commuting so I can keep my good shack at home.
