I thought some of the more technically inclined here might find this interesting. i know it is only a simple circuit but this is my very first attempt at home brewing an electronics project from only a schematic. let's see if any of our tech heads here can guess what it is or what it is for. some of the tech specs are the 2 coils are 6 turns of #22 solid copper 1/4 inch diameter and the 2 caps are 4-34pf variable the transistor is an NTE23 / Toshiba 2sc2498. the parts were scrapped out of old electronics that people discarded over the years.

Bond, I send you on a ATAC recovery mission and you make this??? No gratuitous violence or sex????

Should have your 00 permit revoked.

I am thinking it is either a frequency specific preamplifier or a low power transmitter, gonna say AM.

Nice job now get cracking Bond!!

it is a 1mW in, 10mW (adjustable) out into 50 ohms final RF amplifier for 88 to 108 mhz with a 2 pole LPF and adjustable power. the final is based around the final in one of these Ramsey FM10c. i have one of these MS-100 - Decade Transmitters Inc it sounds real nice has low harmonics but does not quite make 15.239 limits so I'm boosting the power so it is right at the limit for part 15 fm. it has a permanently attached telescoping whip not a matched 50 ohm load which is why it needs so much power (likely 5mW range) to make 250uV/m @ 3m.
