I believe that's what this facility is known as and it's located at Bumps Pond in the forest.
I heard years ago that it is a low security facility for minor(?) criminal offenders and in the past have seen some of these prisoners on work details painting/repairing camp site picnic benches and brush clearing at the various camp sites in the park.
So I'm wondering if this facility uses any radio equipment (probably walkies?) and what freqs they use. I frequent some ponds within a half mile of the facility and always wondered if they have any radio system for their own use while I monitor local PD, FD and MS ops. while in the area.

Thanks for any info in advance.

Not 100% sure what the facility there operates on. Not sure if that is operated under Plymouth County Sheriff's Department or if it falls under the State?

Thanks Bill. I was remembering frequency lists from years back such as the old scanner master books and remember a section on MA prisons with the Plymouth facilities mentioned and them using a 400 MHz group of frequencies and you have confirmed this.
Is there still a list of freqs for the MA DOC available? I remember some facilities used only walkies (MCI Plymouth) and instead of search scanning the group, was going to monitor specific freqs for any possible usage when I'm in the park.

I believe this might be your answer....

WNNZ230
Department of Correction Commonwealth Massachusetts

Transmitter Location:
3200 FT END OF INT OF HALFWAY PD RD & UPPER COLLEGE POND RD, Plymouth

453.500 Rptr 15-watt rptr/29-watts ERP

The above rptr system is licensed in the State Forest at that site. Hope this helps. Sorry, I don't know what the PL/DPL tone is?

Some of the DOC UHF [Transport] was shut down and moved to the MSP 800 TRS, so it might be best to search the 453-454, also Plym Cnty SO [House of Correction] is also in that band, The FCC data is a little out-dated as sites have moved to the MSP 800 TRS and also moved to some simplex ops.

Let us know how you make out, and pass back some good confirmations. Happy Scanning

cmpsa - Thanks for the info and I hope it's up to date but monitoring it will tell for sure.

ecps92 - Thanks also. I will check out the trunked system use and the original freqs noted above. If I come up with anything, I'll let you know.

Bill and cmpsa - Last evening I was in the forest for a couple hours (9-11PM) and did hear someone yelling something on my walkie. Though I did have the the normal forestry crew being monitored, I'm pretty sure this transmission was not from them. The yell was like "Yea, I'll be right there" with a totally different room acoustics (with noticable echo) which I have never heard from the forestry transmissions. The only other comms I was monitoring was the MCI facility and I'm 90% sure the yell came from the repeater they are/once used on 453.500. Some more monitoring in the future will, I'm sure, settle the issue of the repeater still being used.

As I said above, I would check out the MCI repeater (453.500) in Myles Standish Forest. Last night I did hear a little bit of comms from about a 1/2 mile from the facility and a portable (?) ID'd with a number and the base ID'd with "Base". Only a quick exchange of words but it confirms that the facility is still using the repeater at this time. The signal was strong on my portable with a not-so-efficient rubber duck ant.
Thanks again for your info on this facility as it adds just one more monitoring station to the list while visiting the forest.
