Does anyone know how the NCSHP numbering system works? I know it is the Troop Number, followed by the district number and two more numbers. such as D4xx is a Troop D district 4 car, but what about special numbers such a D9xx and does the xx have any location meaning or is that just issued at random to each officer? If someone has a list of what each unit is such as Capts, Lt's, Sgt's etc would be helpful.

Let's see I've been retired a whille, so here goes from memory.
11 as in D411 would be the District First Sergeant, 20 numbers
such as D422 would be Line Sergeants, and 30s and up are Master
Troopers and Troopers, such as D452.

They got it right!!!

WA4MJF hit it on the nail for the numbering system!!!

Andrew is right not just for his area but for all the state. Cars with the troop letter and then 9XX are motor carrier troopers. Same numbering scheme for them as the other troopers.

Re: NCSHP

I have a North Carolina county map with all the different troop numbers and districts along with the low band freqs color coded for each county. Its pretty helpful for when you hear something going on in a Troop/District area your not real familiar with. I'll try to get it up pretty soon for you (Have to get a newer computer scanner thats compatible with Win XP).

bl86,

I have a map like what you are describing but mine is way outdated. Is yours current?

Wes

You guys might find this useful....seems pretty up to date....nothing you probably don't already know.

Thanks blueline!

Clarifies a couple of "mystery" signal codes.

Map neatly shows all the troop districts.

blueline 308,

That is the same map i have, but a little more up to date.

However, according to what is listed in the database here, it is still not totally correct as far as low band channel assignments. For example, compare areas worked by Raleigh Communications on the map to this listing on the database.

http://www.radioreference.com/modules.php?name=RR&action=codes&code_id=1458

I don't know if that is the only one that is wrong or not.

Do you have a way to update that map??? An updated copy would be awesome!!!

Wes
