I live in northern Ontario (47.516667, -79.683333) and was wondering if fltsatcom 8 was visible to me. If it is, what would the heading and elevation be for me? If not, what fltsatcom sat would be?

Thanks in advance.

FSC-8 pointing

Hi,

At its mid-point, you will be able to see Fleetsatcom-8 at 113az / 11el. You should be aware that the satellite is in a highly inclined orbit, at its lowest elevation, it will be 120az / 4el, and at its highest, 106az / 20el. If you use a reasonable antenna, its beamwidth will easily copy with the inclined orbit.

Use the 250.550MHz fleet broadcast bpsk signal as your antenna pointing aid.

regards,

Paul

Thank you very much. I can hear them with my 2M/70cm whip but had no idea where to point an antenna once I have one built.
