Need help in Rock Springs Wyoming

My brother-in-law is an ex highway patrol dispatcher. He has polio and is currently totally housebound. His major entertainment is listening to police/sheriff/highway patrol and the state emergency system on his analog scanner. He is in Sweetwater county and they have gone to a digital broadcast. I need some hands on help in Rock Springs. I would like to get him something like a PSR 600 programed for his local area. He does not have a computer and is not computer literate. I need someone in that area to work with me to help him. Are there any clubs there that I can contact? He is a person in need. I need help to help him. Thanks Dan

I will be heading up that way in October with Computer. Not shure on exact date yet. Have all the info for programming the GRE and Radio Shack Scanners.

That is great I will get back to you as the date gets closer He is working on his phone with the local radio shack for a pro 197 that they are saying they can program for him maybe next week I will update as soon as things happen Thanks Dan

If he is on a tight budget, I would suggest considering the refurb Pro-197. I have a new one and a refurb, can't tell the difference and the refurb sells for $299 online. Just a thought. Cheers.

If he can get a uniden digital scanner I have a "sweetwater co / Wyolink "digital file on my laptop with the cables so I can program it for him in about 5 min or so the next time I go to RS.

Thanks looks like he is on track with his local radio shack withe the pro 197 they are programing for him. hope this will work for him . Ill up date as it goes on. thanks for all the ideas and help Dan
