Hi everyone,

I've got a uniden BCD 396XT scanner and I want to program the freqs for OPP zone 2 but don't know how. Can anyone provide a step-by-step instruction on how to program it?

I've seen instructions here for a 396T, but the steps do not work for the 396XT.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I would recommend downloading FreeScan so you don't have to program by hand. Once you let us know where you are we can give you a little more detailed information.

I think I'm going to have to program it by hand because my laptop doesnt have the socket for the 396XT's plug.

I'm in Bracebridge Ontario. Any ideas on how to program by hand?

You should be able to pick up a USB/Serial adaptor fairly cheap (eBay). Failing that I can put a basic walkthru together to do it by hand. Just need a little time to do it.

hi Forts

Yes the step-by-step would really help. I think I saw someone else here looking for instructions on how to program by hand as well...

Thanks in advance!
