Need help w/ playing audio

I have a desktop that has Vista operating system, and has no comm/serial port on the back. I can not find a serial to usb cable that is good for Vista operating systems. Any help would be appreciated

Before we can help you, a little more information on what you are trying to do would be appreciated. I understand you need a serial port to USB adapter. Are you trying to hook your scanner up to be computer controlled? If that's the case, Make and Model of scanner you're trying to hook up to would help as well.

A USB or serial port isn't needed to provide a feed, to provide a feed you'll need to use an audio cable to connect the earphone/headphone/line out jack on your scanner to your computer's line in or mic in input.
