I just ordered a new Uniden BC346XT scanner (and USB cable) and now would like to order programming software. Should received scanner next week.

Does anyone have any suggestions on which programming software to buy? I need it to communicate with RadioReference database.

Thanks,
Randy B.

you will also need to upgrade to a Premium membership to import from RR DB

Give FreeScan a shot (can be found in the link provided in the previous post). You can just copy/paste directly from the database to FreeScan, but since you're a premium user you can save time by importing directly. Have fun!

According to the RR Wiki on Uniden scanners, the choices of software for the 346 are:

  1. ARC-XT series
  2. FreeScan
  3. IDTracker II
  4. ProScan as of version 2.0
None of the programming software will allow importing from the RR Database without a Premium Subscription. You can still access the Database and take information from it, but the import utility of the software will not be allowed access for automatically importing the data.

One comment - ID Tracker 2 is not really intended for programming. It's excellent at recording and logging, though, so if you need something free for those purposes, go for it. It's well supported by brscanning, who is on this site.
