If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

Hi..

I'm trying to find a parts list or better yet a schematic (with part numbers) for a Micronta 21-522 (that's the 3 meter one from the 70s) CB power/mod/SWR meter. I picked on up a while back but the SWR readings are off, so I figure it's in need of some new diodes and my eyes aren't good enough to see marking (if there are any) on the existing diodes.

Thanks

What readings do you belive are off? For the most part if the whole unit is not banged or dropped, then the meter is more then likely reading correctly.

If you think a diode or some thing is bad, then the meter as a whole problely would not work at all.

A good way to check, is find some one else who was a meter and combar the two meters.

If you think just the swr side is off, reverse the coax connections and then key the radio and check the reading. Should be close to the same.

You can go to mods.dk, register for a free account and the go find a manual.

I have used this site several times and they have a lot a manuals no one else have.

It's the SWR that's the issue. even turned all the way up the meter won't reach the SET mark in calibrate. I don't know the history of this unit, it' was given to me a while back. But it doesn't appear to have been abused.

I had the same model back in the 80's and it was dead on when checked against other meters, so I kn ow how it should behave.
Present day I have an MFJ cross needle meter (that's normal on my HF radio) I can compare it to. I take a look at the site you mentioned and see what I can find.. thanks :)

As a follow up, I opened the meter up tonight armed with two magnifying glasses hoping to get something useful from the suspect diodes.. nothing, just glass and a red band, but then noticed two 100 ohm resistors paired with them in the circuit that each had a small bunt mark on them, and when test were running about 45 ohms each.. replaced them and pur it back together and the SWR calibrate is now working and it's reading SWR too, but seems a bit higher them my MFJ meter. but this is a huge step in resorting this meter/ the Modulation meter need some work yes and then just re align the unit :)
