On Page 9 of the 396t pdf Manual it says:

"Note: Make sure the scanner's antenna is connected before you turn it on."

Is this to protect thr RF front end?

Anyone know if this is necessary for the scanners of today?

Pg 42 in the BCD396Tom.pdf file I have.

I thought it was on page 42 as well but I could not re-find it today. Thanks to your post I see I have two different pdfs for the 396T; only one has the "om" in the title. I was thinking I had just remembered wrong.

Thank you very much for your outstanding program ProScan, I use it every day for logging and the virtual scanner functions. However, with Sentinels in ability to work with MS ease of access’s High Contrast (all data in the favorites & database) are invisible since the fonts remained black and now the background is also black. I will now need ProScan to program my scanners.

Fortunately, Sentinel does work with the MS high contrast well enough to update the database, profile, & firmware.
