This is kinda a tavern question but I couldn't find right forum, so I'll put this here

Railroad Danny has talked about in his videos about the railroad tunnel in New Bergen that currently only allows single stack containers, but is being renovated for double stacks. What is the progress of this project and expected finish date? and also when double stack containers will be able to pass through? Thanks

Assume that you're talking about the Hudson River tunnel project that went into high gear last November beginning in New Bergen. It will be a 8-9 Mile stretch between New York and New Jersey, the existing 114-year-old tunnel will also be renovated.

The 16 billion dollar project (I wonder about that by the time it's done😄) is estimated to be completed in 2034.

The project was in the works in 2010 but was halted due to politics and funding issues so the Gateway Development Commission was formed consisting of New York State, New Jersey state and Amtrak to fund the project.

I would assume that between the old tube and the two new tubes it will do all that it's advertised to do.
