• To anyone looking to acquire commercial radio programming software:

Please do not make requests for copies of radio programming software which is sold (or was sold) by the manufacturer for any monetary value. All requests will be deleted and a forum infraction issued. Making a request such as this is attempting to engage in software piracy and this forum cannot be involved or associated with this activity. The same goes for any private transaction via Private Message. Even if you attempt to engage in this activity in PM's we will still enforce the forum rules. Your PM's are not private and the administration has the right to read them if there's a hint to criminal activity.

If you are having trouble legally obtaining software please state so. We do not want any hurt feelings when your vague post is mistaken for a free request. It is YOUR responsibility to properly word your request.

To obtain Motorola software see the Sticky in the Motorola forum.

The various other vendors often permit their dealers to sell the software online (i.e., Kenwood). Please use Google or some other search engine to find a dealer that sells the software. Typically each series or individual radio requires its own software package. Often the Kenwood software is less than $100 so don't be a cheapskate; just purchase it.

For M/A Com/Harris/GE, etc: there are two software packages that program all current and past radios. One package is for conventional programming and the other for trunked programming. The trunked package is in upwards of $2,500. The conventional package is more reasonable though is still several hundred dollars. The benefit is you do not need multiple versions for each radio (unlike Motorola).

This is a large and very visible forum. We cannot jeopardize the ability to provide the RadioReference services by allowing this activity to occur. Please respect this.

So, it seems that Bondy's repeater on 462.725 is gone, but now there is a new machine on that frequency that ID's about every ten minutes as "LA Echo One" with no call letters. It's a high-level machine because it can be heard all over the LA basin and so far, I've had no luck figuring out who's it is. Anyone know?

Pretty sure it's one of Landon's machines up on Sunset. Not 100% sure, but it's likely affiliated with the Rubicon lidnet on 700 in the IE.

It's the former "Ramon Repeater" and it's mostly Spanish speaking.
It was named after Ramone...the owner. It's 10 bars strong around Azuza
It's on the 91.5 pl i/o and can be lit up from San Diego coastal on a good day.

Not sure if it's part of the Spanish "D-LA" system that runs on the 550 machines with the D306 (Santiago), D743 and 82.5pl.
Another note...
Rumor is that Kevin sold the old 725 machine (saddle peak) to the Mexicans who put it in at Palos Verde. I hear that machine running D723 and making those daily "hops" into Mexico/ Tijuana/ Baja Norte.

The other Bondy Box that was on Lukins was stolen one year ago...in retaliation for the shutdown of the other 725 box that a NBC/KNBC transmitter employee had hidden at the KNBC Transmitter site.

Kevin pestered KNBC so badly they forced KNBC to remove it...and warn the employee to NEVER bring outside radios to the transmitter site.
In all fairness...the KNBC employee had a big mouth and that machine rocked! But the transmitter tech (not an engineer) has had a running feud with Bondy that goes back many years.

Too bad, because the community lost a real fun machine that was full of free speech and great conversations.

Ah! That all explains so much! Thanks for the update! Yeah, it's true that the GMRS crowd in LA can be a little....well, you know. We have so many good peaks that if we could all get along it would be awesome, but it is what it is.

Thanks again and have a great holiday!

The KNBC employee, you mean Dennis Doty? Ya know, the amateur 147.435 repeater is known world wide as one of the foulest mouth repeaters around but it takes a back seat to the pack of idiots that frequent the GMRS repeaters run by Dennis Doty and Kevin Bondy. Absolute bottom of the barrel IQ levels and social skills. They operate GMRS because they are wholly incapable of passing a test to get an amateur license.

I can tell you for a fact that it's wasn't Kevin who pestered Zareh to shut down the shenanigans happening at the NBC Wilson transmitter site.

Kevin's stolen MSF-5000 (from Lukins) was for sale on ebay recently...
But you already knew that you big "insider" you.

Yup....It was Dennis.
Bondy and Dennis have a love/hate relationship going. Ask our good drunken friend Rev.Bob 308.
Kevin jammed Wilson 725 up to it's demise..The jammer Kevin deployed , I was told it was tracked to Ramone's house in Azuza.
Go Figure!

Rumor (hehe) has it that there is a low-level (725 pl 100.0 i/o) machine around Diamond Bar.

I lit it up on Friday afternoon, and it sounds just like that missing MSF-5000 that was on Lukins...until a year ago.
But I don't want to make assumptions, it triggers some folks.

Those repeaters would still be there, if Dennis didn't open his big mouth.
Dennis didn't own those machines and Dennis didn't maintain them.

Dennis couldn't afford those machines, Dennis just bragged that those were his.

I know exactly who was involved and who made calls to LA ,CO and NYC.
Kevin was not the only one.
The labor union that reps(CWA-NABET) Dennis , has the entire list of players that made calls...when they made them and what numbers they came from.
NBC provided that list to the union rep Steve Ross.
It's an official CWA-NABET document.

Is your name on it marcotor?
Do you know what the outcome for Dennis was?
800+ post should make a dude pretty well informed...right?

I almost have 40 post...I'm gonna win that keyloader.

MC2U my feed provider friend!

The 435 used to be crazy! However now it's just 3 people...and real boring.
That Mt.Otay (675 118.8 i/o ) down at the border is now 24/7 and it's getting the rep as the new 725.

You can lite-up that machine from many places near the coast, and the top of the Grapevine at Castaic.
They also hear and hit Otay from Yuma,Az. on those good days.

The nice thing about that box was ...
Free Speech, but yes I totally agree that Rev. Bob took the racism talk too far when he got drunk.

Did you ever hear the Nipsey Hustle/LAPD recording that TMZ ran?

A celebrity listening to a bubble pack radio tuned- to the Bondy 725 (Lukins) machine heard Dennis, Bob and Kevin talking about the death of rapper Nipsy Hussle..
They thought those racist people were LAPD.
Here is the link to the story and audio, you can't make this stuff up.

The Game accused LAPD officers of insulting Nipsey Hussle's family while chatting on their radios and manning Thursday's funeral at Staples Center ... but LAPD says it's not them.
